Mr Matthew Gibson (MRes, BSc (Hons), MBPsS) is an Assistant Lecturer in Psychology and Psychology Technician in the Psychology, Sociology and Education Division. He is also an Affiliate member of Centre for Applied Social Science.

Having completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at QMU, Matthew joined the division as a Lecturer in January 2016 on a fixed term basis which concluded in summer 2018. His undergraduate dissertation was conducted in the area of experimental forensic psychology and his Master in Research degree (MRes), investigating the irrelevant sound effect, was completed in September of 2016. After completing his Masters degree, Matthew acquired the role of Psychology Technician within the Division, and became an Assistant Lecturer in Psychology in the autumn of 2020.

At present I am primarily interested in the study of memory and applications of evolutionary theory in psychology.
