After guest lecturing at QMU since 2013, I started lecturing in Art Psychotherapy in 2016 at the University of South Wales. I was delighted to join Queen Margaret University in 2019 where I teach across interdisciplinary studies, art psychotherapy theory and skills and am acting admissions tutor.
- Overview
During my MA in Art Psychotherapy at Leeds Metropolitan University, I introduced an Art Therapy service in paediatric psychology at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Since then I have been passionate about the role of Art Therapy in physical health settings. I have developed short term, focussed interventions in pain management and oncology with paediatric and young adult patients. I have worked with severely traumatized children in a residential setting and with functional neurological conditions.
In addition to Art Therapy in physical health, I have a research interest in the role of creativity in organisations as part of professional development and problem-solving. I am passionate about the role of creativity in existential inquiry as a positive contributor to wellbeing and mental health.
